Challenge
The Southern Forest is the largest forest in the United States stretching from Virginia to Florida and East Texas. Its natural resources are depleted for fuel, exacerbating the climate crisis and social injustices.
Goal
Raise awareness for Dogwood Alliance and The US Southern Forest to help drive connection and conservation of this vast geographic and culture area. Showcase the organizations mission at regional short film festivals and support the storytelling-based message of Dogwood Alliance approach to raising awareness.
Solution
Inspire and delight viewers with a short fairytale inspired by the diverse cultures and landscapes of The South. Wrote and produced the video, working with a street artist and illustrator to hand paint iconic characters and landscapes and a California animator to bring them to life with voiceover and music to give voice to an ecological fireside tall-tale.
